In studies that have looked at the rates of HIV transmission among couples in which only one partner was HIV+, oral sex did not seem to carry a high risk of HIV transmission. That said, the risk is probably not zero. I am unsure what your other questions are. The best way to avoid transmitting HIV to a partner during sex is to wear a condom whenever your penis is put inside someone else (likewise if one is put inside you). For those who truely want a belt and suspenders approach to HIV prevention, condoms/dental dams for oral sex would be a must. DW | |||||||||
