Dr. Benjamin, Quick question -- Can the severity of HIV infection depend on the mode of transmission? Like, slower progress when acquired through oral sex as compared to high risk like anal?

To my knowledge, the route of transmission has little or nothing to do with the severity of disease.

Really, once infected, it's the relationship between the virus and host (human) that affects the severity of disease. -BY
