| STI therapy Mar 19, 2002 For those interested: The ADARC only has 3 clinical trials open for recruitment, none of those trials is a STI trial. And AACTG doesn't really list any trials that are open to recruitment but I found a link over there, http://clinicaltrials.gov/ . - there will be a Treatment Interruption trial with Remune in the near future but they're not yet recruiting patients + I have my doubts about Remune because it failed to show good results. - there's also another one where they discontinue all HIV therapy but after what I've read in the last two days, this is way too risky, in my opinion. - they're also recruiting 10 patients for a TI trial with T-20 where-in they will interrupt HAART for a 6 week period and give T-20 instead. This could be interesting but I find it a bit strange since it usually takes 7 weeks for HIV to rebound. Why not wait 7 weeks to see whether T-20 is effective in preventing HIV from rebounding? Strange. - Nothing's mentioned over there about the Ampligen STI trial. I guess I will have to contact the company. Anyway, Benjamin Young, thank you for help. Thank you. |
