Stockrin + Truvada
May 13, 2008

I am on Strockrin + Truvada for 10 months now. My VL is undetactable. I just wish to know how long a dose last in your system. I am asking because I skipped a dose. I take my meds at 21:00 every evening. I kipped my Sunday evening dose and didn't know what to do when I realized that in the morning. I searched the site to see what effect would this do to my immune system I did not get a definite answer (considering the regimen I am on) and ended up waiting for Monday 21:00 to resume medication. Please help.

Response from Dr. Young

Thanks for your post.

Since you've got a successful response to treatment with an undetectable HIV viral load, it's highly unlikely that a single missed dose will have any virological or immunological consequence.

So, rest easy and continue with your otherwise very effective adherence.
