| Fat loss reversal possible? Nov 4, 2001 I have been med-free for a year now and have maintained decent CD4 counts (450-500) and declining VL levels (now about 9,000) I'm ecstatic of course but wish I could reverse the fat loss in my face, legs and butt. I've been eating more fatty foods but seem to only gain weight around my middle. Are there any treatments, nutritional or excercise suggestions or supplements for restoring the subcutaneous fat in the legs and butt? Or are those fat cells dead forever as I've heard? Thanks. |

Response from Dr. Fisher
The bottom line is we don't know if anything will reverse the fat loss. Some have tried changing or stopping antiretrovirals, using anabolic agents, even plastic surgery, We have had quite a lot of discussion about this in this forum - you can check out some of the previous Q&A. AF |
