|A Real Solution for Facial Wasting
Aug 8, 2000
This forum has been helpful in providing some information on HIV problems and issues. How ever there does seem to be some restraint on extremely important issue of facial wasting. Unless you have lived it there is no way of describing how horrible and deeply depressed it makes you feel. My case was extremely severe as I had no cheeks what so ever, just two giant craters on my face.
There is very real solution to this and it is with collegan injections. I tried unsuccessfully to find a doctor to perform this here in Dallas where I live but did find a wonderful dermatologist in New York City that is performing this treatment for people with AIDS. I went to his office and had the procedure done and I feel as if a miracle has happened. The results were fabulous and the whole thing took less than 45 minutes. My face was completely back to normal in just a few hours.
While this a "forum" it seems there should be more ways for people reading this to contact each other and really share information. I would welcome emails to me for anyone who is experiencing this living hell to contact me directly for some input.
Response from Dr. Dieterich
Thanks for the info. So far collagen is helping, but it does not last forever and it is expensive. I am delighted that you had a good experience. Thanks for sharing it with us. Douglas T. Dieterich, M.D.
