|Sudden hair loss
Apr 21, 2001
In the last couple months, I have noticed that my hair is becoming so thin that I can no longer even conceal my scalp...wet or dry. Every morning when I style it, I leave a trail of hair in the sink. It continues to fall out daily & my physician could only tell me that it is responding to something that was going on with my body 6 months ago. Also, she and my hairdresser both said that hopefuly since it came out so quickly and all over (even on the sides), that hopefully it will come back. Is there anything I can do or take to help regrow my hair ASAP ??? Thank you.

Hair loss can have many causes and often there is never any answer. The obvious things to check are thyroid function sex hormones and changes in medication. There is a common disease called alopecia areata, which just causes hair loss for no apparent reason. Once your MD has done the obvious tests (like for lupus etc) then the only treament is really waiting, good nutrition, exercise etc. Good luck! DTD
