| Weight Loss Feb 26, 2004 Dr. Moyle, I have been positive for 6 years that I am aware of. When first diagnosed, I had a CD-4 of 7. Now I'm back to 480. My only major side effects form the illness and drugs where fatigue muscle loss and lipodistrophy. I started HGH and steroids (a mild one) and have come back to life. I feel a million times better. I jog and workout 4 times a week. I thought it was important to say that I take full charge of my treatment. I work very closely with my doctor, who I consider my guide, to manage my illness. But, I always do what I feel is best for me. I had to push and be persistent to get the steroids but it has paid off. It is not enough to exist with this illness. I have to live. I want people to know this. I have blood work done often to monitor my health. I want people to know that Doctors don't do medicine they "practice it". We must assume responsibility for our illness and do what is best for ourselves. Do not be afraid to look for a Doc that will guide you with true and understanding. We place too much weight and responsobility on our physician. With good diet, exercise, and the right drug combo FOR YOU, We all can live a great life. SMurphy |
