Kaletra, Viread and Epivir Feb 5, 2004 Dr,. On a couple posts, Kaletra was mentioned as being one of the wrost culprits for blood fats. But it was also montioned that it was a combination with combivir i believe. My current cocktail that I have been on for a short time a coouple weeks consist of Kaletra, Epivir and Viread,. Should I consider changing my meds? Im terrified if lipo. Thanks so much Greg |

 There is a study currently on-going looking at this combination but the initial data suggest the lipids don't seem as bad as with someother NRTI + Kaletra regimens. As the NRTI are the key players in risk of fat loss, we know that the risk with tenofovir seems low so that seems a good choice I think you should stick with your current meds but could consider replacing the kaletra with atazanavir/r or efavirenz at some future timepoint to make the regimen easier to take, have fewer pills and be even more lipid friendly regards Graeme Moyle |
