What is the proper treatment for lipodystrophy?
Response from Ms. Fields-Gardner
That is the "billion dollar" question at the moment!
Lipodystrophy is a bit of a catch-all word to describe a host of problems that have been related to a number of risk factors.
Many clinicians choose to address each risk factor that can be identified, which makes the treatment quite individualized. For instance, smoking is a risk factor which you can work on, making smoking cessation an appropriate treatment (among others). But if you don't smoke, then it will not be included in your treatment.
And so on for each risk factor that exists...
Hope that helps!
