I have been taking deca for at least one year for wasting and my physician at my request increased the dosage to 3mg per week up from 1mg per week. My question is would there be better absorbsion of Deca if the 3mgs per week was changed to 1mg every two days? I have been HIV for over 20 years and am 50 years of age Thankyou. B

I am a bit confused by doses as the usual dose for Deca is 200-600mg/week by injection. My thought, however, is that if you have been on an anabolic for >1 year and still have wasting and are requiring ever higher doses you need to consider if you really want to have this drug as a lifelong medication or should stop now, see what happens to your weight over the next 6 months (it will at least take 6 weeks for your body to re-establishe normal hormone production) and investigate with you doctor why you are losing weight and how you may combat this without the need for escalating hormone doses
