My HIV medications are Tipranavir,t-20, veramune, veracept, norvir. Please desperate for any advice. John

Response from Dr. Moyle

Dear John, It sounds like you are already getting a lot of sophisticated advice. Clearly getting your anti HIV medications right is critical to recovery so make sure there are no missed doses. I would also get advice from a dietitian about supplements ....sometimes 'elemental' feeds are best absorbed and less likely to trigger diarrhoea than conventional supplements. I presume you have had stool cultures to check for infection and a biospy of the gut. If not these should be done and consideration given to a course of Ciproxin 500mg bid for 7 days to treat any bugs that might be missed in a sample. I hope this provides some new string points Regards Graeme Moyle
