fat loss in face
May 9, 2003
Hi
Have you any idea what is the best available method of face restoration due to HIV fat loss. I am looking for something long lasting and not very expensive so I can afford.
I would appreciate any information you give me.
thanks

Response from Dr. Moyle

Well, I guess the cheapest are diet and exercise and careful modification of your treatment regimen with your doctors advice. These take time to show benefits, maybe years.
Plastic surgical interventions are the best quick fix. Some such as collagen and fat transfer anecdotally don't last long so are not good value. Fat transfer may give a lumpy appearance. Silcon injections can be usefull but occasionally people get inflmation at the sight of injevction which may leave scars. Biodegradable fillers like NewFill ( see some other replys in this section) may be the best value giving good natural appearance and feel that lasts (estimated) 2-3 years. Talk to yu local support organisation or your doctor about where you may be able to access these types of fillers.
Good luck
Graeme Moyle
