| Non-progressive???? Oct 21, 2001 I am newly diagnosed but have had the disease for 2 years. I've had 2 HIV tests and they both showed HIV in several bands. My CD-4 was 1222 and went down to 1067 following a surgery. My viral load was 52 and has decreased to non-detectable. Is it possible that I may have a non-progressice type of HIV? My other question is, does a CD-4 count vary in people without the disease? |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
Although it is too early to determine whether you are a nonprogressor, those kind of numbers would indicate so. CD4 counts can indeed vary. They can vary during the day, because of other infections, drug use, stress, pregnancy, etc. MH | |||
