Nelfinavir and Combivir
Aug 18, 1998
Writeups on Nelfinavir and Combivir recommend triple medication. A friend who is on this regimen tells me that these two medication are properly considered to be a triple medication regimen because Combivir contains two mediciations (ACV plus lamividine). From what I have been able to learn 3TC--combivir--Epivir---Lamivudine---are synonymous so that triple medication is not obtained in Nelfinavr and Combivir and is actually only two medications. Please straighten me out

Nelfinavir (Viracept) and combivir (AZT + 3TC) are indeed three medicines. Epivir (lamivudine), is 3TC only. Retrovir (zidovudine), is AZT only. The combi, implies the combination of these two. Hope that helps. MH
