FOLLOW UP to-VL as means of determining infection date (1/8).
Jan 14, 1999

Dr Mark: Thanks for your answer. Now, putting all HIV etiology aside, have you personally ever come across a documented, recently-infected individual with a CD4 cont such as mine, in the high 300's; or are the normal counts of 800 to 1.200 set in stone for humans? Thanks

Response from Dr. Holodniy

No, I have seen cases such as yours. In our recently published series of about 30 cases, there were a couple of people who within a couple weeks of infection had a CD4 count in the 300s. MH
