| confused Sep 28, 2001 Doc, I've asked you a few questions over the last 6 months and have always appreciated the time you spend on answering them. Here's my latest: My wife had a VL of 361000 and CD4 of 81 (11) prior to treatment. 6 months down the line her figures are VL 410 and CD4 67 (18) she also has TB which is being treated. I am concerned that her CD4 is so low but her Consultant says he is very pleased with her CD4 percentage. She is on Septrin (bactrin) and will be until her CD4 is above 200 why not until her CD4 reaches say 25 if the percentage is more important than the actual CD4 figure. Excuse me if this is a stupid question |

No, it is a great question. I wonder what her white blood cell count(WBC)is. I suspect her WBC count is low, which is affecting the absolute CD4 count. This may because of underlying disease or some of the drugs she is on. MH | |||
