Interactions between cold medications and HIV medications
Oct 25, 1999

If I were to develop a cold are there any cold medications that I should not take? How long should I wait if still suffering from symptons of a cold to see a MD?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Over the counter routine cold meds are OK to take with HIV meds. If there is low grade fever, sore throat, runny nose, etc, these are usually self limited. If yellow sputum, high fever, prolonged headache, stiff neck, or other more severe symptoms develop, get to the doc ASAP. MH
