very worried

Sep 14, 2001

I recently had an illness that included: - nausea when eating - diaarhea - joint pain in my left hand.

It did not feel like flu, although i had a mild fever for one day. I was also under a lot of stress at the time.

Is this typical of initial hiv infection?

Please answer, i really don't know what else would cause these symptons.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

HIV symptoms are very nonspecific. Many viral infections can cause the same kind of symptom complex. The symptoms you describe could be HIV related or caused by many other viruses.
