Can you be infected by the test center?
May 18, 1999
What is the likely hood being infected by a HIV test center? What if some infected people playing the needles that is being use to draw your blood? Any laws require all the health workers be tested? Can an infected person be a qualified technican to draw your blood (by laws or regulations)?

The likelihood is almost zero, even with the whole Smith-Kline fiasco. HIV testing requires informed consent and cannot be mandated as a condition of employment (except for the military and maybe a few others). I personally know many HIV positive healthcare workers who continue to perform their duties like anyone else. MH
