Influence on testing
Sep 8, 2001

Would taking St. John's wort,(Hypericum perforatum), or having drunk alcohol the day previous to testing cause someone to have a false negative test. I know the main cause of false negative is inside the window period testing, but would any tablets, alchol etc affect a test result if it was more than 6 months after the risk event?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Although there is no data to answer the question directly, it is extremely unlikely that these agents would affect testing.
