ARS-Confusion
Sep 8, 2001

Hello Dr Holodniy, I have a question regarding ARS. 6 weeks and 5 days after my possible exposure I started to get joint pain all throughout my body, a few days after this I started to get muscle pains(some excruciating) all throughout my body as well. I havent expierenced really any other symptoms. Now my question is can joint and muscle pain be a ARS symptom by itself. Or does other symptoms like a fever or swollen nodes have to come along with it to be considered ARS? Also is seven weeks to late to start showing symptoms? its almost 9 weeks now and my joints and muscle throughout my body still ache and I am really worried. Thanks for you help Dr.Holodniy its really appreciated.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

These symptoms alone would not be typical of HIV infection. The timing is also rather late.
