Test Negative with night sweat. PLEASE HELP!
Dec 28, 1998
Thanks for the questions and answers forum. I tested Elisa negative at 3, 6, 7 and 8 weeks after possible explosure, but I am getting night sweat for the last 7 days. The sweat was not server, but I am concerned. When a person sweat at night with HIV virus, is this cold sweat or hot sweat in regard to body temperature? Why sweating only happen at night and not in the morning? Can anxiety causes night sweat? Can HIV virus causes high blood pressure? Thanks.
Response from Dr. Holodniy
Night sweats can be caused by a variety of things including, infections other than HIV, cancer, and anxiety. It is usually related to elevated body temperature from fever. It is extremely unlikely that HIV could cause an elevation in blood pressure. MH
