This went on for months. Now the good news.. I had a p24 test in the first week after exposure, DNA test, one with 40ppliter sensitivity numerous antibody tests, the last 6 months after exposure. All results were negative.I was also tested for other comunicable deseases and found positive for CMV and Epstein Barr. I have had every symptom there is. I read of many others like me.Is there something going on we don't know about? This was not PSychosematic because I didn't know of the symptoms. Can I resume sex with my girl friend? Am I to presume that I am negative? Should I get another test after one year? should I test urine? Please Help. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
I think you have essentially ruled out HIV infection. Most all of us are exposed to CMV and EBV viruses when we are children so your positive tests for those viruses are not surprising. However, acquiring these viral infections as adults, can produce symptoms very much like you describe. If that was the only exposure, then your clock for waiting has stopped after 6 months. MH | |||
