Negative Eliza and VL-Enlarged Spleen
Jan 14, 1999

Dear Doctor: I had a high risk exposure 20 months ago.I took the HIV TEST I-II every month including a VL at month 20=Undetectable-negative all of them . I was just about to put this nightmare behind when a new symptom appeared.I been experiencing enlarged spleen for the last 2 months.I Undestand that enlarged spleen is a key sign of HIV infection. Should I repeat all the test again??' Thank You.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You don't need another HIV test. A large spleen can be caused by a variety of diseases, too many to list here. Check with your doctor about other possibilities. MH
