Am I finished
Jan 14, 1999

I tested negative via Elisa for Hiv 1 2,3,4,5,6 and 7 months after a low risk encounter in May 98. Now, 8 months later I am experiencing elevated liver enzymes. I was tested because I take Lipitor for cholesterol.I also have strange taste in mouth all of the time, sore eyelids, and small white spots on my lips. In light of a recent question/response should I be concerned about CMV and if so how long must I wait for accurate results if a simultaneous CMV/HIV innfection was the problem?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You do not need further testing for HIV infection for the 5/98 exposure. I doubt this is CMV. I might rule out hepatitis A/B/C. A drug reaction is certainly possible. MH
