| sweats Feb 8, 1999 hi, quick question: is it true that the sweats w/ hiv are usually soaking and you KNOW something is wrong? my husband sweats in his sleep occasionally but not to the point that he soaks the bad or his hair. the sweat dissapears after i wake him up and tell him. he tests negative so i just wanted to ask if that is basis for re-testing. Rick Sodawski replied to someone that hiv sweats are SOAKING SWEATS. is that true/ do most people (men) sweat sometimes when blankets are on them and there be nothing wrong? ALSO, he is not running fevers when he does this(i check him!) thank you! |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
Sweating (from fever), soaking or otherwise, can be associated with a variety of different infections or other illnesses (like cancers, thyroid problems among others). It can also be normal to a degree. It is not specific for HIV. MH | |||||||||
