| Thrush/Neg test Sep 8, 2001 Dr. Holodnity, If someone was to experience thrush and took an hiv test after window (three months& 5 1/2 months) would this indicate the thrush was caused by something else besides HIV? Or should more time be waited until another test was performed? |

Oral yeast infections are not specific for HIV infection. There are a multitude of possible reasons why thrush is present including prior antibiotic or steroid use, other infections, cancers, etc. | |||||||||
