relieved but still worried
Feb 8, 1999
I just got my results for my 6 week HIV test. Thankfully, it was negative. My question is that the blood was taken out a week after I started getting muscle and joint aches. I still have the aches going on to their third week. They can very uncomfortable. I was wondering if I can discount the aches as HIV ARS because doesn't that mean that my body had already produced antibodies and they would have shown up on the test? My doc says that they're probably stress related but I find it hard to believe because the pain can be very severe. Thank you for your response.

It's hard to know what they may be related to. You need to be sure that you get followup antibody testing at 3 months. MH
