Numbness Accross Nose Bridge
May 11, 1999

Hi Doctor I read about this person who has numbness accross his nose bridge and occassional numbness in the hands. I have the same symptoms after a potential exposure about 5 months ago with a possibly infected razor at a barber shop. I have tested negative at 3 months but I am worried as this numbness does not go away even after 1.5 months. I had a CT scan done of the sinuses and the result says that I have a polyp in the left maxillary sinus and hypertrophied turbinates. This has come on very suddenly without any possible known cause. Is this a sign of HIV infection and should I get retested. I know that my symptoms are not imaginary and they are also not stress related as I hardly ever think of it anymore.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Anything is possible, but that symptom is unlikely. MH
