Swollen Glands

Jul 6, 1999

Hi Doctor. I tested negative in November, 1998. In January had bad flu symptoms, high fever, joint pains, but no swollen glands. In approximately May, 1999 had flu symptoms again, but no swollen glands. Tested Positive June 1. Just developed swollen glands as of last week in June and haven't received initial viral load or cd4 results yet. Any way to tell when approximately infection occurred.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

It is unclear from your dates, when you may have engaged in any high risk behavior, or whether there was recurrent potential contact to account for multiple periods of symptoms. Also you may have also had colds or flus, and thus the symptoms were unrelated. The closest I can come with this information is some time between November and May. MH
