Symptoms
Jul 21, 1999

Severe headache that lasts for months. Random muscle and bone pain. Pain under the skin, all over the body, generally limited to small areas. Pain behind the knee , in the soft area. Pain in the elbow tip, not on the bone, on the inner side towards the body. Occasional hip pain. There is occasional pain in the areas where lymph nodes are concentrated ( armpits, groin) but never any swelling in 2 years. Got tested for HIV-1 after 7 months of risky sexual encounter, negative result. Do the symptoms still point to HIV ? There has never been any fever, weight loss, fatigue or loss of appetite. Please advice.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Your symptoms are nonspecific, and given the negative HIV test at 7 months, unlikely to be related to HIV infection. MH
