hi doc,if i got infected by someone who had hiv1 and 2 would this be a cross breed virus were maybe elisa 1 and 2 dont pick up?does the immune system seperate the two viruses seperately in the body?i hope u understand my question ive been indetermine for a long time and trying to figure this out all doctors ive seen said u dont have hiv but i think i have a crossbreed of 1 and 2 thanks i hope u understand my question

The immune system can distinguish between the viruses, which is why there are two different tests, because the antibodies that develop are different. There are also reports of duel infection with HIV-1/2. MH
