thrush follow up Dec 31, 1998 doc, you stated that thrush can possibly be localized in one place, my tongue has had quite a bit of white build-up since almost 9 months ago,(i also smoke). do you normally see thrush in back of tongue or does it usually start elsewhere?have you ever heard of foaming yeast?can you give details on this?is looking for thrush under a microscope the same as looking for vaginal yeast? Thanks, i do appreciate you. |

 As I said before, it can be localized to one spot, if caught early. It usually, and depending on the immune status of the patient, will progress over the top and sides of the tongue. It will look the same under the microscope whether it comes from the mouth, vagina, or anyplace else on the body. MH | ||||||||
