| epstine virus + hepatitus A positive Jan 26, 1999 Doctor (p.a. stanford clinique) found high load of "Epstine" virus in my blood and anti-body to hepatitus A. HIV test is negative, but HIV symptoms are present (fatigue at the morning, weight loss, nite sweats, so on, for many years). How common is it for HIV patients to have tested positive on Hep A and have high epsite virus load? |

Antibodies to hepatitis A (HAV)indicate you have had that viral infection in the past and are immune. Not sure what the Epstein Barr virus (EBV) "high load" means. We can measure antibodies or EBV specific antigens in blood. There is a chronic form of EBV that can cause symptoms similar to HIV. Many people with HIV infection have been exposed to HAV and EBV in their past. I am not sure we know the answer with respect to how many people with HIV infection have chronic EBV infection as well.
