cure in sight??? Mar 18, 1999 doc, do you know if there is really a cure in the future for hiv?what is your opinion, there is so much talk on tv and radio but you never know what to believe.Even if you dont know if there is one in progress do you believe there will be soon?maybe this will give a little encouragement to all the scared readers. (hopefully anyway) i wonder if it will be cured by the year 2005? do you think this (hiv) is harder to cure than cancer????//thanks.. |

 In my opinion, there will not be a cure anytime soon. HIV, like many other viral infections is chronic. The key will be to turn off replication permanently while still having the virus in someone. The drugs and strategies to do that are getting better every year. MH | ||||||||
