generation of ELISA?
Mar 15, 1999
Dear Dr. Holodniy,
I have been tested by ELISA many times. However, most laboratory, when I tried to call and asked about the generation of ELISA they use; most either don't know or reluctant to tell patients. Some require you to have your doctors call. My doctors think I am being redundant.
In general, for most laboratories, do you think they are using at least 2nd or 3rd generation tests? I hope they are not still using the 1st generation test. What do you think?
Thank you doctor.
Response from Dr. Holodniy
In the U.S., most commercial and hospital clinical labs will be using 3rd or 4th generation tests. MH
