| testing accuracy and cbc Jun 15, 2001 I just want to thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. I had a cbc (incl hiv test) conducted 71 days after a possible exposure. I tested negative for hiv and my CBC was normal. Question? If I had been infected with hiv, would my cbc show any abnormal blood test results? Do you think i need to take another test for hiv? you are the man! |

A cbc can be normal or abnormal during acute infection. Findings are very nonspecific and not necessariy consistent between patients. | |||||||||
