Hiv -ve T lymphocytopenia
Jun 1, 2001

Dear dr, first thank you for all your work you're doing on this forum. You are doing a wonderfull thing. I would like to ask you about a subject that is cross-linked with the forum topic. What do you know about a chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome, called "idiopathic" cd4 positive t-lymphocytopenia (aka HIV-negative AIDS). Is it the same thing with CFS/Fibromyalgia ? Is it something similar to Hiv, only that is produced by a virus-bacteria organism, called Mycoplasma ? Which are the general symptoms and the course of the disease ? Is it diagnosed based on a regular T-lymph cytometry ? Thank you in advance for your answer, Mike

Response from Dr. Holodniy

It is a diagnosis of exclusion based on CD4 number obtained by flow cytometry. Unlikely related to CFS/fibromylagia. The etiology is unknown and natural history are largely unknown.
