VDRl 1:2 to weakly reactive.

Sep 2, 2018

Hi! I was diagnosed with syphilis with VDRL 1:2 and TPHA positive. Underwent treatment with 1 penicillin injection. After a year got the test repeated and it shows VDRL weakly reactive and TPHA positive. I have had no sexual encounters during this period. Am I cured of Syphilis and was single shot of penicillin good enough.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

These tests for syphilis can remain positive for months to years after successful treatment.
