Past chlamydia infections

Aug 12, 2018

I recently had a chlamydia test done and Im unclear about the results. So the igg came back 18.48 DU/ml & they said >11 is positive but the igm came back 2.16 DU/ml & <9 is negative. Do these results mean I have chlamydia or that I had it in the past?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You don't provide any context for why this test was obtained. In general, with a positive IgG result only, this indicates past infection. There are several other kinds of tests to determine if one is currently infected with chlamydia.
