RPR 1:1?

Aug 12, 2018

I had the second stages of syphilis and i was only given one shot of penicilin my infection rate has declined and shows a 1:1 ratio. However it does show as reactive? Will i ever be fully cured and not have it come up as reactive? My doctor says it will never be cured and can keep it under control if the numbers go up? Is this accurate?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Syphilis can be cured with appropriate antibiotics. The RPR test can remain positive for months to years after successful treatment.
