Switch from travada to descovy and Prezcobix

Dec 10, 2017

Just switched from Travada and Prezcobix to Descovy and Prezcobix. My cd4 count is always between 750-950. My cd4 percentages range from 25-31 percent. My cd8 counts are always slightly high. Should I worry about this switch in meds? Thanks

Response from Dr. Holodniy

The active HIV medications in Truvada and Descovy are the same. The tenofovir component of these meds is slightly different, making Descovy less harmful to the kidneys. So, no need to worry about this change.

How worried should we be?
ARV for two years (efavirens 600mg/lamuvidine300mg/tenofovir ds 300mg
