How worried should we be?

Dec 10, 2017

Dear Dr Mark,

My wife and I haven't had had any other relationship in the last 8+ years. We are perfectly healthy and have no health issues at all.

My wife is 16 weeks pregnant and just got told that the HIB antigen/antibody tests are positive. Our GP has told us its 99 percent certain and have asked us to meet a specialist.

We never did any drugs. 9 years ago before I met her I had sex with few other women but they are all perfectly healthy too. How worried should we be? We are waiting for confirmatory testing results.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

Nothing can be concluded until confirmatory test results are available.
