High variation in CD4
Sep 30, 2017
As a complement of my last question I am not in treatment yet and no infection, I am asymptomatic & healthy. My detection was in December 2016
I can not understand why my cd4 is now 3 times more than the first sample.
Doctor, could you help to understand the variations of my test?:
May 9th Cd4 251 22% VL 1,682 Log 3.22
Jun 19th Cd4 761 40% VL 5,757 Log 3.76
Is possible to rise 3 times my cd4 in a month?
Do you think The variation of my VL is significant?
Response from Dr. Holodniy
The increase in CD4 count and percent is difficult to explain. You would not normally see such an increase in one month. Additional testing will help determine what the real trend actually is. And no, there is no significant difference in HIV viral load between those two values.
