| Early Infection and Viral Load May 12, 2001 Two months after infection, a cd4 391 23 branched 185,000. Could my set point be much different from this? Should I be concerned with the cd4 figure (is this my nadir?) Ive begun combivir+sustiva+viracept. Thanks for your forum- like a best friend with lots of answers and patience. |

Response from Dr. Holodniy
If you started treatment 2 months after infection, we will not be able to know what your set point might have been. It usually takes several weeks to a few months to establish the set point. It could have stayed at 185,000 or it could have gone down to 5,000 or less. Concomitantly your CD4 count usually dips and then could raise somewhat weeks to months after seroconversion, depending on how good your on immune response was to the virus. MH | |||||||||
