My percentage has gone down from 11% to 7.7% and my cd4 count has remained just below 300 to be exact 277 and undetectable. I have a lot of little health issues nothing major but my specialist says the % does not matter.. Confused ?!! As far as I recall when my % was about 21% a few years ago and my cd4 was above 600 I never almost got sick.. Can you clarify my % concerns I was under the impression that under 12% was really not good? What can I do or should do? Thank you!?

The percent does matter here. Your CD4 percent indicates significant loss of CD4 cells and hence immune system function. A definition of AIDS is a CD4 count of < 200 or < 14%. Thus, you are at risk for various serious infections. Although your CD4 count does not reflect this significant impairment, your CD4 percent does.
