high viral load
Jan 12, 2014

somebody in my family has high viral load of 24000 and 930 cd4 and her daughter has negetive hiv result, her husband died recently in india shall mother and daughter has to start the treatment immidietly? will ayrvedic midicines available in india help in treatment? thanks please reply if possible.

Response from Dr. Holodniy

If someone has a HIV viral load result of 24,000 copies/mL, then by definition they are HIV infected. A CD4 count of 930 indicates a CD4 count in the normal range which is good and indicates that the immune system has not been damaged to any great degree yet. Although there is no urgency to start HIV meds, HIV infection should be treated with approved HIV medications and can be supplemented with Ayurvedic herbs or medicines, provided that they do not interact with approved HIV medications.
