CD4 count never goes down
Jan 5, 2014

im living in japan and according to the healthcare laws here that my cd4 count should be around 500 or below to start getting help with medication however its been 3 years since i got infected and my cd4 count has not budged a single digit actually goes up not down, also no symptoms have ever occurred aside from my hay fever i never got sick these past years is it possible that im a LTNP?

Response from Dr. Holodniy

You don't indicate what your CD4 count and percent are, or what your HIV viral load results are, so it is hard to say whether you fit into that category. In general, this group has normal CD4 counts and very low or undetectable viral loads (in the absence of HIV treatment) for many years.
