Viral Load still detectable
Dec 15, 2013

Im taking 3TC, AZT/ZDV & efaverinz. Been taking it for 12months now. I started 12/2012 with viral load:10million copies & cd4: 415. I just received my latest 12/2013 results viral load: 70 copies cd4: 508. I know i should done a test 6 months after starting ART but did not. With the figures i have, should i be worried?

I'm going to go see my doc tomorrow and hopefully she's have something good to say with the results i have. I'm just afraid my body's response to ART is slow....

Response from Dr. Holodniy

That is a fabulous result. Given how high your viral load was before starting, getting down to 70 over a year is a very good result.
